Based in New York, Priyan’s professional background spans the globe where his 30+ year career saw him provide leadership to large teams at American Express, Boston Consulting Group, and Ernst & Young. In his last role as Executive Vice President at Global Business Services, Priyan oversaw Finance, Procurement, Real Estate, HR and Business Transformation Support across the American Express enterprise.

Ashroff Omar
Group Chief Executive Officer

Group Chief Executive Officer of Brandix Apparel Limited, Ashroff Omar has been instrumental in redefining the Sri Lankan Apparel industry for over four decades. He is also credited with pioneering environmentally friendly apparel manufacture in the world and establishing the world’s first LEED platinum manufacturing facility for eco-friendly manufacture. His extensive experience and ability to think beyond the norm has secured him positions in the Boards of some of Sri Lanka’s most respected corporates. He is also the Founder Chair of the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF), the apex body of the Sri Lanka Apparel industry.

Ajit Johnpillai
Non-Executive Director

Having entered the apparel industry in 1990 as an Operations Manager with LWR Casualwear – New Zealand, Ajit subsequently served at Smiths DIY Group, Ernest & Young in Bermuda and New Zealand, and Touche Ross – Jamaica. At Brandix, his current role sees him spearheading Brandix’s sustainability strategy as well as overseas central procurement.

Nihal Fonseka
Non-Executive Director

Nihal is a career banker and served as the Chief Executive Officer Director of DFCC Bank from 2000 until his retirement in 2013. He is currently a Chairman of Phoenix Industries Ltd, Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Phoenix Ventures Ltd and Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Group Audit Committee of John Keells Holdings PLC. He was a member of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka from 2016 to 2020 and the President of the Sri Lanka National Advisory Council of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, UK from 2011 to 2020. Prior to joining the DFCC Bank, he was the Deputy Chief Executive of HSBC Sri Lanka. He is a past Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange and the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP). He has also served as a Director of the Employees' Trust Fund Board and as a member of the Presidential Commission on Taxation (2009), National Procurement Commission and Strategic Enterprise Management Agency (SEMA). He holds a B.Sc from the University of Ceylon, Colombo, is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Studies, (FIB) UK and is a Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, FCSI(Hon), UK.

Hasib Omar
Non-Executive Director

Hasib is the Founder and Executive Director of The Moose Clothing Company (Moose). Formerly General Manager - Operations at Brandix Casualwear, he was adept at applying the expertise gained during his tenure at Brandix to create and transform Moose into a premier brand of clothing in a short period of time. A passion for high-quality products, extensive knowledge in manufacturing and fabric as well as negotiation and analytical skills gained at Brandix, helps him continue to raise the bar and strive for excellence in Apparel. He possesses a Bachelor’s in Economics from Flinders University and a Master of Business Administration, Economics from the University of Colombo.

Sabeen Omar
Non-Executive Director

Sabeen supports the operations of Phoenix Ventures and presently heads the Omar Family Office. In the capacity of Non-Executive Director, she brings with her diverse experience in Teaching and Fine Arts. She holds a BSc in Mathematics with Economics at the University College London and a BFA in Fine Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has continued to engage with Brandix over the years, working closely with the Company Leadership team.

Sadiq Omar
Non-Executive Director

Sadiq commenced his journey at Brandix in 2014 and currently leads the company’s Digital Transformation journey. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a BSc. In Mechanical Engineering, Sadiq worked in the renewable energy sector prior to moving back to Sri Lanka. With this experience, he joined Brandix as a Management Trainee and quickly learned the Planning, Procurement, and Merchandising processes of the apparel industry, before moving into ICT. His background in engineering, passion for technology, and attention to detail has enabled him to successfully implement multiple Digitization projects at Brandix before being appointed as the Head of Digital Transformation. Sadiq is also a Non-Executive Director at Phoenix Industries and Moose Clothing Company.

Jeevan William
Non-Executive Director

Jeevan serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the board of Brandix Lanka Ltd and Chairs its Risk Committee. He has nearly thirty years of Investment Banking experience with senior positions in fixed income derivatives and debt capital markets at leading global firms including Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, National Australia Bank, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, based in London, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Sydney. He is the Managing Director of Granite Capital, a Non-Executive Director of CAL and Sunshine Tea. He is an oathkeeper of the Banking & Finance oath, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Fellow of the Finance & Treasury Association in Australia. Jeevan was educated at St. Thomas College in Sri Lanka and earned a BSc at the University of Manchester and an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Hasitha is the Managing Director of the Brandix Group and leads Strategy, Transformation and Long-Range Planning. He is also the Managing Director of Brandix India Apparel City and overlooks all Joint Ventures and investments for the Group, while being a Director in many of its subsidiaries including listed company, Teejay Lanka PLC. He was formally a Non-Executive Director at Bank of Ceylon, a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board and CIMA Sri Lanka. He was also a Committee Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. He holds an MBA in International Finance, a BSc in Computer Science, and is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA - UK), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA - UK), and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA - SL). He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). A passionate teacher, Hasitha was the winner of the ‘Tutor of The Year Award’ at CIMA Global Financial Management Awards 2009 held in London. He was also the Winner and Gold Medallist of the prestigious ‘CIMA Star of the Year’ award in 2012 and the Winner of ‘Young CIMA Star of the Year’ award in 2006.

Natasha Boralessa
Group ESG Director

Natasha leads the Environmental, Social and Governance functions in Brandix. Her 20 year career in the apparel sector began when she started as a Marketing Executive before quickly making her way up the apparel value chain. Her streak of proactive innovation saw her head several organisations within the sector, working in areas such as HR, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Marketing. Natasha is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA - UK).

Afham Ali
Group Supply Chain Director

As Director of Brandix Apparel Ltd, Afham guides the overall Supply Chain of the Brandix Group. His multi-disciplinary background has seen him in industries as varied as FMCG and Telecom before spending the last two decades dedicated to the Apparel Industry. He counts experience across HR, Planning, IT, and Information Systems. Afham holds an MBA from the Post-graduate Institute of Management, and a degree in Bachelor of Commerce.

Nadun Fernando
Group Operations & Engineering Director

Nadun serves as the Functional Director for both Operations and Engineering on the BAL Board. Nadun joined the Brandix Group in 1999, as a Financial Accountant for Eden Fashions (Pvt) Ltd (part of the Casualwear business), and later progressed onto become the Chief Financial Officer for BCW. In 2008, he moved into Brandix Lanka Limited and was one of the pioneer members responsible for setting up the Shared Service Centre for the Group. Nadun subsequently took over the role of Head of Operational Finance for Brandix and represented the Finance function in the Apparel Leadership Team and Brandix Leadership Team. In 2018, Nadun took on the role of CEO - BCW, where he was instrumental in turning around the business and leading the team in challenging market and operating conditions. Nadun is a Fellow member of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and holds a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

Arjuna Sirinanda
Managing Director - Fortude

Arjuna leads the Digital Transformation and IT functions at Brandix. His global IT career spans 25 years and has included roles in process reengineering, consulting, project management and delivery of IT solutions to global businesses. He has had exposure across the Apparel Value chain, and in the Food and Beverage, and Equipment industries. He has helped build several global IT companies and is also the Managing Director/CEO of Fortude. Arjuna holds an MBA from Exeter, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Management.

Roland Smith, Ph.D.
Group Human Resources Director

Roland leads Organizational & Leadership Development and has oversight of the Human Resources function as a Director He supports transformation and future readiness at Brandix. Dr. Smith is recognized as a developer of top talent, high performance teams and as a creator of sustainable business models. His past assignments have included serving as the Director of the Global Learning Lab at Claremont College, Group Head of Leadership and Organizational Development and Co-Chair of the Executive Committee of InterGlobe Enterprises based in Delhi and served as the Managing Director and Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific for the Center for Creative Leadership based out of Singapore. Roland holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Idaho, a Master's Degree in Education/Instructional Technology as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Boise State University.

Rajiv, a 22-year veteran of Brandix, has a track record of driving long-term and impactful value creation. The cornerstone of his success lies in building a high-performance culture that infuses passion and productivity within teams, enabling the navigation of complex challenges to surpass stakeholder expectations.

He is a trusted mentor and an active champion of diversity, who puts people at the centre of creating value and growth for his customers, to win in the marketplace. He is driven to create social equity and supports the steering of these efforts within the organisation, and the communities in which the Group serves.

Rajiv holds a BBA in Marketing/Management from the Cleveland State University, Ohio (U.S.A.), and completed his Executive Education programme at New York University – Stern School of Business.

With over two decades of experience in the Apparel industry, Lalith has played a lead role in developing strategic global partnerships and transforming them to growth catalysts, to position Brandix Group as a sought-after partner for key customers. In many instances, his insights in this arena have enabled the organisation to make impactful strategic choices.

He is deeply passionate about caring for the environment, and is an advocate within the organisation to ensure sustainable practices are embedded at every point of operation. Our largest manufacturing facility - Brandix Essentials, Batticaloa, was named the World’s 1st Apparel manufacturing facility to receive Net Zero Carbon Certification in 2019, as a first step to the Groups vision of achieving Net Zero Carbon manufacturing for all facilities by 2023.

Lalith holds qualifications in Apparel Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a B.SC. Special Degree in Mathematics from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and an MBA from the Post Graduate Institute of Management.

Asanka Wimalaratna
CEO - Brandix Fast Fashion

With diverse experience in both the apparel and financial sectors, Asanka fuses his knowledge to enable smart process improvements to make significant strides in productivity and quality. He is a keen translator between customer desires and developing agile solutions, as he collaborates with those within and outside the organisation to make change that matters.

His entrepreneurial vision makes him seek out risks that raise the performance bar and capitalise on leading-edge solutions for his customers, creating a distinct competitive advantage.

Asanka holds an Executive MBA from National University of Singapore, and a B.SC (Special) Business Administration from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and an Associate member with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
